TTY · Replace2014-2018 L83/L86 and early LT1/LT4. Do not reuse or substitute the later Gen V+ bolt.
Camshaft actuator / phaser bolt - Gen V+
Different boltLater L82/L84/L87/L8T/LT2 applications use a different bolt. It is shown only to prevent a parts-counter mix-up.
Camshaft actuator magnet bolts
OEM hardwareThe small fasteners retaining the actuator magnet to the front cover.
Timing chain tensioner bolts
OEM hardwareConfirm the tensioner is seated and released correctly before rotating the engine.
Camshaft position sensor bolt

HEADS & ROTATING ASSEMBLY
Cylinder heads and bottom end
Cylinder head bolts - standard bolts
TTY · Replace19 required per engine. Tighten in sequence; the forward internal-hex bolt on the left head has a different final angle.
Cylinder head bolt - forward LH internal hex
TTY · ReplaceOne required per engine: forwardmost fastener on the driver-side cylinder head.
ARP head studs
Aftermarket hardwareDo not use the OEM head-bolt procedure. Torque depends on the exact ARP kit, lubricant and instructions supplied with it.
Connecting rod bolts
TTY · ReplaceFactory connecting-rod fasteners only.
Main cap inner bolts
TTY · In sequenceComplete the inner and outer fasteners in sequence before the side bolts.
Main cap outer bolts
TTY · In sequenceComplete in the specified main-cap sequence.
Main cap side bolts

Crankshaft oil deflector bolts

Inside-out sequenceTighten the main upper-pan fasteners working from the inside outward.
The Fel-Pro service kit includes the cooler-line gasket, oil-pump pickup seal and related service seals. GM's factory-style procedure uses gray RTV instead of a formed pan gasket.
Oil pan-to-rear-housing bolts
OEM hardwareRear cross bolts; do not confuse inch-pounds with foot-pounds.
Lower-to-upper oil pan bolts
